Kathmandu . Continuing its tradition of honoring Nepalese graduates of Pakistani educational institutions, the Embassy of Pakistan organized its Annual Alumni Get-Together Gala at Soaltee, Kathmandu. The event brought together around 450 alumni, dignitaries, and friends of Pakistan, creating a vibrant atmosphere of reunion and cultural connection.
The participating graduates included recipients of scholarships under various Pakistan-sponsored schemes, as well as those who pursued their studies through self-finance programs. The gathering served as a platform to reconnect, reminisce shared experiences, and further strengthen ties that have long existed between the people of Nepal and Pakistan.

Addressing the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. Abrar H. Hashmi, emphasized the importance of such alumni interactions in fostering deeper understanding between the two nations. He noted that Nepalese students’ exposure to Pakistan’s culture, cuisine, and hospitality had left enduring impressions of goodwill and mutual respect.
Ambassador Hashmi also highlighted that more than 4,000 Nepalese graduates from Pakistani institutions are currently contributing to Nepal’s development as well as the global diaspora. Their roles, he stated, underscore the long-term value of educational exchange and collaboration.

During the program, alumni expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s expanded efforts in bringing together former students. They reaffirmed their commitment to promoting cultural, educational, and people-to-people ties between the two countries. Many participants underscored the growing need for education and training in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, medical innovation, and other emerging fields, pledging their support to foster opportunities in these sectors.
A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of the launch of the Pakistan–Nepal Alumni Network, a move that generated significant enthusiasm among attendees. The new platform is expected to enhance cooperation, strengthen professional linkages, and deepen friendship between Nepalese alumni and Pakistani institutions.
